PHIL 252 -- Introduction to Modern Philosophy -- Spring 2010 -- Exams

Exams

  • Mid-Term Exam: The Mid-Term exam will take place on Monday, March 15th, 2:10-3pm in the regular classroom. It is closed books, close notes. The exam will consist in two parts:
    1. In class part: 15 short questions to which you are expected to give short answers. You should not expect to be able to have full credit with a single sentence answer. More than a paragraph, on the other hand, is probably too much. Provide examples to illustrate your point. The short questions will be taken out of the study questions that you had to answer to in your homework. This means that all you have to do is to go through the material, prepare and learn your answers to the study questions.
    2. Bring home part: The exam will contain an essay question. Your essay is due on Thursday, March 18th, at 2pm in my mailbox (LA 101). After this, your grade will be lowered by one letter grade every additional day. Before you write your essay, please read carefully my grading policies -- in the syllabus -- as well as the advice below on this page. Your main goal should be to be clear and sharp. Make a small point, but make it well.
